Guide & Retail Standards
Master barcode formats, bulk generation, and inventory management.
Why You Need a Professional Barcode Generator
Whether you are running an e-commerce store, managing warehouse inventory, or designing retail packaging, generating precise and scannable barcodes is critical. Our free tool allows you to instantly generate the exact barcode standards required by modern Point of Sale (POS) systems worldwide.
Bulk Barcode Generator (Batch Mode)
If you need to generate hundreds of inventory tags at once, manually creating them one by one is tedious. Filebrr's Bulk Mode allows you to paste a list of product codes straight from Excel, or upload a CSV file. With a single click, our offline engine generates all your barcodes instantly and packs them into a neat .ZIP file containing high-resolution PNGs or vector SVGs. Perfect for printing massive inventory sheets.
Which Barcode Format Should You Choose?
- CODE128: The most versatile and robust standard. It supports both numbers and letters.
- EAN-13: The global standard for retail products. It requires exactly 12 digits (the 13th is a checksum).
- UPC (UPC-A): The standard retail barcode for the United States and Canada. Requires exactly 11 numeric digits.
- ITF-14: The global standard for shipping cartons and outer packaging. Requires exactly 13 or 14 numeric digits.
PNG vs. SVG: Exporting for Print
When designing product packaging, the crispness of your barcode determines whether a laser scanner can read it. Raster images (PNG) are great for digital use, but they can become pixelated if resized. Vector graphics (SVG) are mathematical paths. If you download the SVG, you can import it into Adobe Illustrator or Canva and scale it perfectly without losing quality.
Note for Print Designers (CMYK): Web SVG exports use standard Hex/RGB formatting (#000000). When importing into Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW for offset printing, ensure you map the barcode vector paths to 100% K (Black) in your document's CMYK color profile to prevent registration issues.
